On Saturday, April 5th, some members of the chorus took a field trip to Jazz At Lincoln Center called "What Is A Jazz Singer?" Those who attended can use this space to provide their comments. Here are some ideas to start you off:

What did you get out of the experience? What did you learn?

Did the lunchtime meetings we had help you understand the show better?

What do you think about Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, and Billie Holiday? What do you remember learning about them? Do any of their experiences connect to things in your life?

How does this music relate to the music you listen to?

Step 1 in getting this website to be really awesome: I posted audio clips of our chorus rehearsal last week. (I posted the Monday/Tuesdsay Chorus and will try to post the Wednesday/Thursday this weekend).

Listening to it again today, I'm very proud of our singers. One song posted here is called "O'Desayo." It has a part in it two different groups are singing different parts at the same time. This is note easy to do!!!! We still need to do more work on this, but it is coming along very well. GREAT JOB CHORUS MEMBERS!!!

Check out the clips (http://www.freewebs.com/mcgorrymusic/chorus.htm) and post a comment. KEEP IT POSITIVE. If you find something that you think needs work, use language like this..."I think we should work on ......." or "We can try to blend together more here...."

-Mr. McGorry
